Marine Parks

The State Government has committed to establishing a network of 19 marine parks within South Australian waters. A map showing the outer boundaries of the 19 marine parks is available here.

Marine park outer boundaries were released for public comment on 29 January 2009. However the zoning for each marine park is not expected to come into effect until 2011, following community consultation.

I urge everyone to have a look at the provisional boundaries and take the opportunity to raise any concerns or suggestions by 27 March 2009.
